Description

An experienced Delivery Manager is needed to join the team at this leading publishing and subscription services bureau based in Essex.

They work for some of the UK's most prestigious magazine publishers, providing subscription management, e-commerce, anddata analytics services.


As a Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of their Technology team (which encompasses the development and IT ops teams), including the delivery of the products and services.

They operate in a modern, purpose-built office with over 50 staff members.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Managing the delivery of multiple technology projects (of differing sizes) successfully
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients and thirdparty suppliers
  • Build and maintain the technology team, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well
  • Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them
  • Work with the leadership team to deliver a programme of technical change
  • Focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services
  • Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team by identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement and implementing them
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, reporting directly to the managing director

Required Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills; ability to: interpret the needs of clients, communicate complex technical ideas to a nontechnical audience, manage stakeholders' expectations and facilitate difficult discussions when required
  • Experience of working with agile, lean and waterfall practices
  • Experience of working with a team to deliver a programme of change
  • You can bring the team together to motivate and empower them to deliver, recognise and deal with difficult issues
  • You can facilitate the delivery flow of a team to maintain momentum, actively addressing internal and external risks
  • Ability to balance cost versus value; monitor cost and budget and report on financial delivery
  • Ability to deal with the daytoday as well as the bigger picture
  • Have sound knowledge of SQL, cloud services, i.e. Azure, web technologies and general infrastructure (no handson requirement, however)
