Description

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Cover Cook to join our Nursery in Enfield.

Purpose of Role:

To assist the main Chef in preparing age appropriate food to high standards in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment.

Keep accurate records of supplies and report order requirements to the cook.

This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements and our policies and procedures

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Support the Chef to keep the kitchen in a clean and safe environment adhering to internal and external requirements
Encourage and model behaviour which is appropriate in a child environment being professional at all times
Support the Chef to prepare and cook enough age appropriate food for all the children on a daily basis with minimum wastage
Support the Chef to ensure budgetary requirements are met
Use nominated suppliers and ensure all deliveries are accurate and record keeping is kept up to date
Support with other activities with the nursery events e.g. BBQ's, Fetes, Staff meetings etc
Support the Chef and manager to work as a team to ensure a good or better inspection outcome
In the absence of the Chef, be responsible for the cooking of the meals and the safe running of the kitchen
