About the role


The post holder will join the MHST in Kingston and will be undertaking assessment of young people in schools who present with low mood, anxiety, other mental health issues and/or behaviours that challenge.

They will offer individual, group, parent and family interventions as appropriate within the school setting and depending on the presenting need.

They will also support the implementation of the whole school approach and will provide consultation, training and support to our cluster schools.

About you


We are interested to hear from people with different qualifications and experiences including family therapy / systemic approaches, CBT, creative therapy, mental health nurses, behaviour specialists.


You need to have:

  • Experience in providing consultation, support and training to a range of professionals and caregiver groups
  • Experience of working with complex and vulnerable families and working with individuals and groups presenting with a range of needs (including ASC, ADHD, mental health or behaviours that challenge)
  • Ability to use a broad range of assessment tools and evidencebased frameworks to evaluate outcomes and progress for children and families
  • Post qualification experience of working with children and young people in a clinical, social care or educational setting
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk related to mental health difficulties or severe behaviours that challenge, including risk assessment and management
