There is a maternity improvement programme underway at Royal Oldham Hospital which will enhance the services we can offer to women, birthing people and their families who access our care and we would love for you to join us on this incredible journey.


We have just rolled out of Badger net digital maternity notes, an end-to-end digital solution, incorporating Birmingham Symptom-specific Obstetric Triage System (BSOTS) to support the safe, quality care of our women and birthing people.


We are developing our workforce with new roles to support the service and to improve progression opportunities for our midwifery team because we want you to see your career progress within the NCA.

You will be expected to have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to engage others to excel.

Main duties of the job:


The post holder will have a leading role within the Maternity Services' Clinical Governance team and will provide skills and knowledge to support the Governance Assurance Framework.

The post holder will be an advocate for women and their families in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the area, ensuring that Trust values and beliefs are upheld.


The post holder will:


Undertake investigation for incidents and complaints submitted for Maternity Services, preparing rapid reviews and assisting in the preparation of Root Cause Analysis Reports for the Division, Care Organisation and external agencies.

Support the patient safety agenda by participating in audit and quality improvement initiatives across Maternity services.

Support guideline/policy development and timely review, ensuring that Maternity guidelines and policies reflect national recommendations and best practice.

Support with the preparation of documents and reports.

Participate in the practice review forum.

Assist in the Co-ordination of risk & governance meetings for the Directorate

Support Clinical Teams with management of the risk register and development of new risks

Actively participate in Divisional meetings relevant to the role
