Description
Central London Community Health Trust (CLCH) Inner Northwest London Night District Nursing Service are recruiting.

As a recognised provider of innovative, high quality services to our patients, we are seeking exceptional Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers to join our friendly, busy team of Night District nurses working in Central London.

The District Nursing Service covers Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham.

Our Night District Nursing Team Lead Alex Parting says of the role "What makes this job so special is that every night is different.

There is a nice mixture of routine District Nurse visits and Rapid Response calls so you never know what or who you're going to see.

Working in Central London there is such a variety of people, homes and needs.

From homeless to royalty we literally see every side of life, all under the cover of darkness when people are at their most vulnerable.

It can be busy and demanding at times and you have to make quick decisions but it is so rewarding being able to attend to people in their hour of need.

Night shifts are not for everyone.

It takes a special kind of person to be looking after the sick and often dying in their own homes at night.

It means travelling against the traffic and sleeping during the day when everyone else is awake but if you're that person the benefits are huge.

"

The appreciation from patients and their families make it all worth it and we have an amazing team that support each other through the good times and bad.

Indeed, we were shortlisted at the 2023 CLCH staff awards for Compassion in Care towards both our patients and each other.

"

This is what our patients say about us:

  • 'thank you both for everything you did last night, you were wonderful'
'I do know I shall be forever grateful, it was those two beautiful nurses, they were like angels, full of grace, respect, love, honour'

'we will never forget your dedication, hard work, compassion and professionalism. It was such a difficult and painful time for all of us so thank you for being there and doing what you did for him'
