What you'll be doing


As a casual Cook you'll play a key part in our Hospitality and Catering team You'll be the supporting the Head Chef to deliver our catering service to resident groups that visit us at our Millport Centre.


  • You'll do handson cooking, some kitchen management and deputising for the Head Chef as needed, as well as assisting with the supervision of the catering team.
  • This is an active role and you'll need to be happy to be able to carry out all of the duties associated with kitchen work.

Achieve a great Work/Life balance with mínimal late shifts Our finish time is normally 8pm at the latest

  • We usually operate fixed mealtimes with one or two sittings, using set menus with two or three food choices.

Who we're looking for
We need someone with at least one year's catering experience, preferably within a high-volume kitchen in a school or contract catering environment


You will also have:

Where you'll be based
The Field Studies Council Millport centre is situated on, Isle of Cumbrae in Scotland.

It has state of the art purpose-built conference facilities, twin bedroom ensuite accommodation with sea views, plus 7 teaching spaces comprising classrooms and laboratories.


We host learners of all ages and backgrounds from nursery schools, primary and secondary schools, Universities, adults and research placements from all over the world.
