Job description:

Paint Sprayer/Mechanical Inspector - Bamber Bridge
When business dictates, the role will extent to light mechanical work on vehicles. For example, multi point inspections and pre delivery inspections on used vehicle being prepare for, or ready for sale.

Key Responsibilities - Paint Spraying

  • Preparation: Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
  • Mixing Paint: Accurately mix paints to match the manufacturer's specifications or the customer's desired color, using paint mixing equipment and following established formulas.
  • Detailing: Perform detailed work such as blending, buffing, and polishing painted surfaces to achieve a smooth, glossy finish free of imperfections.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished paint jobs for flaws, blemishes, or inconsistencies, making any necessary touchups or corrections to meet quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean spray guns, paint booths, and other painting equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, and thinners.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of paint usage, color formulas, and job details for future reference and inventory management.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, including auto body technicians and painters, to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient completion of projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a car paint sprayer or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with paint spraying equipment and tools, including spray guns, compressors, and drying systems.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for color matching and surface preparation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address painting issues or defects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to paint spraying and hazardous materials handling.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities - Vehicle Inspector (Mechanical)

  • Brake Inspections: Inspect brake systems, including pads, rotors, calipers, and lines, identifying worn components and performing replacements or repairs as required.
  • Basic Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot common vehicle issues such as battery problems, fluid leaks, and engine performance issues.
  • Fluid Checks: Check and top up fluid levels including coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid to maintain vehicle performance and safety.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing guidance and recommendations regarding necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and vehicle condition, to facilitate proper billing and future maintenance scheduling.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating equipment, handling hazardous materials, and performing tasks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in a fastfit or automotive service environment.
  • Proficiency in performing routine maintenance tasks such as tire fitting, oil changes, and brake inspections.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting vehicle systems and components.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills to identify and address mechanical issues effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring manual labor.
  • Certification or training in automotive technology or a related field is preferred
