Within the University's Finance department, the Schools Business Partnering team is responsible for supporting all academic schools in the development of financial plans and budgets, decision support & project costing, in year performance monitoring and financial controls.

We operate a hybrid working model with team members expected to be on site (on average) 2 days a week to ensure we provide the best possible support to our stakeholders.


We have a vacancy for an Associate Finance Business Partner, a role supporting our team of 5 qualified Schools Business Partners in areas of cross cutting activity.

This will be a varied role, building up expertise and knowledge to become team lead for project-based work within the thematic areas described below.


This is an exciting time for the sector and this role will be at the heart of work developing new course formats and meeting the high expectations of our diverse student body.

The post holder will play a key part in evolving the role year on year depending upon strategic priorities and have considerable freedom to manage their workload to meet agreed objectives and outcomes.


Key responsibilities are:

  • Financial management of the tuition fee setting process, including scholarships and bursaries, underpinning £240m of revenues.
  • Oversight of the financial process surrounding the DfE funded activity for the School of Education and Social Work.
  • Workload analysis and costing support to help develop our course portfolio and improve productivity.


You will have a sound knowledge and experience of working in financial analysis and costing, understanding of governance and compliance issues, and the ability to develop processes across multiple stakeholders.
