An incredible opportunity has arisen to provide governance across the Lighthouse Learning Trust. This truly is an exciting time to work for the Trust.We are 18 months into our five year strategic plan and we are making strong progress to becoming outstanding post 16 providers in the region with challenging growth plans making the future look exciting.
This role will create a bridge between the CEO, Executive Team, and the Governance structure.The Governance Clerk will work closely with both the Chair and CEO with a view to supporting the delivery of the Trust's strategic plan and values.
The Governance Clerk is employed directly by the Trust Board and the job activities and personal specifications have been aligned to the six areas of responsibility outlined in the DFE Structures and Roles handbook, which are:1) Strategic Leadership (Support the focus on Strategic and not Operational, conduct of meetings)
2) Accountability (Uphold educational standards and financial performance)
3) People (Recruit, induct, and train individuals to maintain good governance)
4) Structures (Uphold's constitution, clarity, and effective arrangements)
5) Compliance (With legal frameworks, contractual obligations, and requirements)
6) Evaluation (Accurate records, minutes, and attendance. Highly effective administration)
As a key member of our Trust Central Team, you will principally support our volunteer Local Governing Boards (LGBs) and Trust Committees.
Governors and Trustees play a pivotal role - and include parents and highly regarded members of the community - each of whom bring a wide range of commercial, professional and educational expertise to our academies.
Your vital administrative, organisational and procedural support and advice will ensure effective and efficient governance at academy level that is consistent with Trust wide practice.
The post holder will benefit from a hybrid/home based approach with evening attendances at college sites for formal governance meetings and other informal meetings as required.
The successful applicant will be required to work 18 to 28 hours per week, term time only plus one week.
Weekly hours are negotiable dependent on skills and experience.Two set days per week (suggested as Monday & Tuesday to meet the needs of the pattern of the current meetings).
Half a day per week can be worked flexibly.Closing date:
