Role Overview
The Rural Professional team in Exeter are looking for a dedicated support.

The team is made up of two Directors and two Associate Directors in Exeter, with other team members based in the Truro office.

You will be supporting them from a busy and friendly office environment in Exeter.


The work is wide-ranging and varied and will include arranging appointments, assisting with compliance, word processing, report formatting and processing invoices.

Attention to detail and document presentation will be a key part of the role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing full administrative support to a team of surveyors including those based in other offices from time to time.
  • Researching and cataloguing comparable evidence for valuation reports in a disciplined way.
  • Use of LandApp software to produce plans for reports.
  • Undertaking due diligence research for fee earners and the ability to make judgments as to the relevance of the research and what is required.
  • Creating documents from templates and formatting reports to a high standard.
  • Audio and copy typing and general administrative tasks.
  • Typing correspondence and reports to a high standard.
  • Updating and/or producing schedules, presentations and general data records.
  • Creating jobs, raising invoices and keeping various records.
  • Assisting with compliance matters.
  • Diary management including travel/hotels and arranging meetings.
  • Filing and archiving.
  • Answering phones and dealing with enquiries or taking messages.
  • Open and action or distribute incoming mail and correspondence.
  • Proactive approach to complete personal workload without supervision.

Key Skills

  • Excellent and advanced IT skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • High level of word processing and document presentation skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation, coordination and prioritisation skills.
  • Fast and accurate audio and copy typing.
  • Ability to type and format reports in an efficient manner.
  • Professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a good understanding of grammar and syntax.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Ability to multitask and to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to understand the team dynamics and aims.
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment essential.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients and colleagues.
  • Exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times.
