The vacancy

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Secretary to join our 'Business And Organisations' team - supporting our lawyers across the division in areas that include Employment, Company and Commercial. The role is based from our modern offices in Chandlers Ford (near Southampton), which offers great open plan working and an on-site staff restaurant/coffee shop.


This is a newly created opportunity working as part of a small team of secretaries and an administrator, who together provide comprehensive legal and administrative support.

The team structure allows people to build long-lasting and strong working relationships with their colleagues, and enables good support for each of the team to ensure an even distribution of workload.

You'll be involved in helping the team achieve excellent outcomes for our Clients through:

  • effective diary management,
- production of quality legal documentation,
- producing document packs,
- client contact including updating on the status of cases and/or any other required information
- opening and closing Client files/accounts,
- assisting with the billing process to ensure fees are effectively billed/realised,
- undertake research for members of the team as required
- event management and attending/arranging department specific events
- ensuring that team members achieve the tight deadlines required (for example, ensuring document packs are ready in advance of court appearances).


What we Look For


We are seeking an experienced secretary, senior secretary (or personal assistant) with experience of working within a legal practice/law firm.

We are a friendly team, and look for people who enjoy working with others.

You'll have great attention to detail, good Microsoft Outlook and Word skills, an accurate typing speed (typically of 60 words per minute or more) and a strong knowledge of common legal terminology/legal processes.
