ABOUT THE ROLE


You will engage with strategic and operational business leaders to rapidly gain a deep understanding of the business' goals and objectives across Distribution, Finance, HR and Property areas.

They will use this insight to define an implementable technology plan and architecture, appropriately balancing cost, functionality, viability and flexibility, to create optimum value for the business.

This role is responsible for defining both the technology plans and the conceptual and logical target architectures and roadmaps. It is also ultimately accountable for assuring the designs that implement these into production.

In addition to core business priorities, the EA - Operate must also consider the broader technology factors (e.g. data, technology and integration) in defining and delivering the technical enablers for a world-class ERP and fulfilment suite.

This will require a highly collaborative style with a range of Technology colleagues, to ensure a seamless and integrated capability is delivered.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the definition of the Distribution, Finance, HR and Property architecture, aligned to a broader Enterprise Architecture, and aligned to the corporate strategy and plans. Assess the financial and technical impact of change and agree an architecture investment strategy to accelerate the journey from current to target architecture.
  • Lead the definition of architecture models for the Distribution, Finance, HR and Property domains, including asis, tobe and transition state architecture models.
  • Lead and facilitate the development of technology strategy for the Distribution, Finance, HR and Property domains, including the development of roadmaps and plans for executing these. These will take into account internal and external factors and consider the commercial and change factors, as well as technology.
  • Lead and facilitate the creation of domainspecific Architecture Principles to guide solution decision making.
  • Participate in, and use, Governance forums to ensure that architecture standards are adhered to, strategic plans and objectives are met, and roadmaps are realised effectively.
  • Manage technical debt as relevant to the Distribution, Finance, HR and Property domains.
  • Continually analyse the current business and Technology environment, in respect of Distribution, Finance, HR and Property, in cooperation with key users (business and technical) of the ERP and Fulfilment architecture, to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Engage key business stakeholders to identify and recommend business and technologyenabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive business strategy. Focuses on growing revenue, improving agility, optimising costs, and mitigating risks.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.


ABOUT YOU

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Prior experience as a successful Enterprise Architect or Lead Solution Architect supporting digital transformation across enterprise capabilities
  • Significant experience of defining reference architecture and architectural artefacts from scratch i.e. leading initial creation as well as ongoing maintenance.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading a federated community of architects, designers and system owners, including working with 3rd parties in these roles.
  • Prior experience in solution / design assurance and governance at scale.
  • Experience in software delivery, solution architecture, data architecture, solution assurance or similar roles.
  • Work for complex organisations undergoing complex and significant transformation, disruption and/or change due to digitalisation or competition from disruptors.
