The postholder will support, deputise, and represent as appropriate the Head of Operations - Corporate Operations by leading Non-Elective Care (NEL) programmes of work, on belhalf of the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, which will require joint working with partners from across the Trust and wider Integrated Care System (ICS) to ensure that the strategic aims of the Trust and ICS are met.


The postholder will work to the Head of Operations - Corporate Operations and alongside Trust and ICS partners to progress and deliver significant programmes of work, resulting in measurable improvements to Key Performance Indicators including nationally mandated performance targets and access standards.


Such significant portfolios of work include the Trust Non-Elective Improvement Plan (NELIP), the Trust Winter Resilience Plan, and the Modular Build Delivery Plan, including their respective links into wider ICS planning and integration.

The postholder will be expected to lead on generating reports to give assurance on overall Corporate Operational Performance.

Such things as reporting on, and responding to Financial / HR / Service Development / Staff Engagement / Operational compliance / Governance / Policy review / FOIs, under the direction of the Head of Operations.


In order to ensure success it is not expected that this role will be directly involved with the day-to-day operational management of the Trust.


Work independently within and across the UNHM NEL delivery and improvement agenda, working towards the system NEL strategic objectives, including service redesign and planning activity, to forumale long term strategic plans.

Working closely, and negotiating with the Divisional Leadership, Transformation, PMO, Performance, Quality Improvement, and other as necessary teams.


Contribute to the delivery and leadership of the NELIP and its constituent Workstreams and Working Groups as appropriate, ensuring that projects, plans, and wider service improvement programmes deliver targetted outcomes.
