The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive administration service to support the reception booking team, consultants and clinicians in the Breast Unit.

You will work in association with the clerical teams to provide a central point of communication for patients and staff.

Provide a comprehensive administrative patient pathway service and support in the operational activity across the specialty for RTT.

  • Provide a complete medical administrative service including RTT and patient correspondence.
  • Preparing and organising documents and data for meetings, attending and taking notes when necessary.
  • Liaising with Nurses, Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for the patient.
  • Working as part of a team, sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the administrative service to deliver safe patient care.
  • Provide a first point of contact, answering all enquiries.
  • Assisting with the smooth running of the consultant's diary and organising meetings and rota.
  • To be aware of the importance of doctors completing discharge summaries and outcome forms in a timely manner.
  • Support the multidisciplinary team in planning and implementing effective care for patients whilst in the department.
  • Collection and inputting of referral to treatment data (RTT).
  • To arrange and manage appointments, book followup appointments and manage the waiting list appropriately.
  • Reviewing letters, outcome forms and other documentation to confirm RTT clock start and stop dates when required.
  • To identify potential cancer waiting time breaches with the Patient Pathway Manager and clinical teams.
  • To scan and upload clinical information as directed to ensure patients' electronic medical records are kept as up to date as possible.
