Description
Our client is an advanced manufacturing company based in Northampton. They specialise in CNC machining plastic components, light weight foams & composite patterns and moulds. Primarily within the Formula 1, Aerospace, Marine, Automotive & Oil and Gas industries.


As the company has grown into Aerospace and Formula one Industries, they have seen an increase in demand for high tolerance inspection to satisfy customer requirements.

This has led to the incremental purchase of 2 Hexagon Romer arm 3D scanners & a programmable CMM machine.

They are now looking for an experienced quality engineer to work with cell leaders to help drive our Quality management system.


Responsibilities:


  • The use of both CMM & 3D scanners
  • The use of Polyworks Inspection software
  • Checking components to engineering drawing
  • Feeding back information to Machine shop cell leaders
  • Communicating & reporting to customers

Requirements:


  • Prior experience working in an Aerospace or Formula one environment
  • A good understanding of engineering drawings & tolerancing
  • Good Attention to detail
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Knowledge of CNC operating and setting
  • Confidence liaising with customer Quality Departments
  • Prior experience working with 3D scanners & CMM machines would be advantageous
