Sell Columbia Sportswear merchandise in a friendly, accurate and customer service-oriented manner.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


  • Provide all customers with a first class service giving advice on our products to assist with their shopping experience, using the GERT guidelines.
  • Provide information to all customers on current product features and benefits
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of product features, benefits and availability.
  • Ensure that all our products are displayed in a tidy manner following the Company's visual standards. Also requires keeping product sized and straightened.
  • Help with product deliveries by unpacking and sorting the goods in size order.
  • Perform all required cash register transactions such as sales and exchanges expeditiously and with a high level of accuracy.
  • Stock merchandise by receiving daily shipments and distributing to sales floor.
  • Maintain a neat orderly appearance of store facilities by cleaning, organizing and tidying (includes vacuuming, windows and bathroom cleaning).
  • Follow company's policies & procedures.
  • Follow the company's high professional standards in individual behaviour for the demonstration of respect, courtesy and professionalism, including attendance and timeliness.
  • Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Scope:

Job has some variety in terms of customer contact and needs. Incumbent follows well-established store practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions and goals and work is checked or verified visually and by results.

Decisions are made within specific store policy constraints and there is always someone on duty to resolve questions or queries.

Errors in judgment could affect the profitability of the store through poor customer service, theft, and discredit the company's reputation with its customers.


Interpersonal Contacts:

Internal contacts include the Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisor, store staff, and Retail Trainer. External contacts always include customers.
