We are hiring Join our home care team todayRenStep currently in search of compassionate, caring, flexible, and reliable Health Care workers/Assistants to join our team. We have an opportunity based in London &, Hertfordshire, Epping Essex area. We support and care for the vulnerable adults in the community. This involves working with service users throughout London and surrounding areas. Therefore, there is a requirement to work flexibly to ensure individual needs are met while maximising independence, choice, dignity, privacy and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting service users with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Taking service users into the community, attending medical appointments and activities
- Supporting service users with daily activities / tasks
- Support to build confidence and skills in all activities as part of daily living
- To develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users.
- To promote the selfesteem, happiness, and emotional health of service users
- To encourage and support service users in expressing needs, views, and concerns. To enable service users to make choices and decisions and to participate in planning and decisionmaking processes.
- To enable and empower service users to gain independence, confidence and competence in the following areas:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Improving and maintaining health and wellbeing
- Daily living skills
- Budgeting and managing money
- As a support worker, participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual support plans and engaging the clients in learning
- Contribute to and complete risk assessment regarding the clients when necessary
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with family members where appropriate and with outside healthcare professionals
Essential:
- Positive and nonjudgmental value base
- Knowledge of the latest legislation
- Demonstration of a commitment to supporting and motivating adults with learning difficulties/mental health/acquired brain injury
- Ability to maintain boundaries and communicate effectively with the clients
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to work shifts including sleepins including weekends and bank holidays
- Experience of working within a similar environment
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)
- Up to date mandatory training (desirable but not essential)

COVID-19 considerations:

Experience:
Spinal Injury: 5 years (preferred)
Support Worker: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
