Description
The Heart Lung Centre is a specialist research unit located within the Queen Anne Street Medical Centre.

The Unit is dedicated to evaluate the mechanisms of airways disease and the properties and clinical potential of new therapeutic agents in allergy, asthma and COPD.

We specialise in clinical trials and drug development.


The Scientific Officer will work within the research team to ensure all laboratory and scientific aspects of the clinical trials are performed to the highest standards.

The Scientific Officer will be required to perform a range of laboratory duties, including biological sample processing and analysis, and contribute to providing an effective and efficient clinical laboratory service.

They will need to exhibit a willingness to learn quickly and also actively contribute to the development of the team by sharing ideas and initiatives.


  • Be educated to degree level in a relevant scientific field
  • Have at least 2 years' experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Have experience of working to GCP/GCLP standards
  • Have a good understanding of analysis methods such as Flow Cytometry, Luminex, ELISA
  • Be well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills
It would also be advantageous to have experience in the following areas:

  • Respiratory Medicine; with a knowledge of asthma, COPD and/or allergy
  • Prior experience of working as part of a clinical trials research team

Salary:
£27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
