Event Coordinators Voluntary Role:


Caius House are looking for event coordinators who can support our staff and youth in delivering amazing events With our spacious and multifaceted centre, we have the capacity to run engaging, fun packed and youth led/inspired events for our diverse community.


You will be the driving force behind organising and managing exciting, appealing, and successful events As part of a small team, you will use your experience to collaborate, building events that are unique, memorable, and impactful.

Together, you will share ideas, motivation and have a flair in being creative.


Your talent to harness positive energy, will help create an incredible experience that everyone who takes part in will really enjoy.

You will also be able to reflect and critique on key successes and things that perhaps did not go so well, to work towards how we can make our events even better and continuously improve.

You will be working closely with our general manager, who will support you in developing events and scheduling.

You will also work closely with our social media team, and facilitators who will assist you in managing your events and ideas.


You will also support in:

  • Organising, promoting events, both in person and online
  • Upskilling our youth and inspiring them to run, manage and facilitate their own events
  • Planning and coordinating resources, such as venue seating and guestlists, building and adhering to events budgets (with limited or small budgets in some instances)
  • Working closely with our wider team, youth and community and communicating effectively
  • You will be working as part of a team to provide safe, creative, and appropriate challenging activities for our youth
  • You will need to ensure that the young people are always kept safe by following Caius House policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health and safety issues
  • Building positive professional relationships with children, young people, and parents
  • Being a positive and committed contribution to existing staff teams
  • Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all who attend our provision
  • Being a positive representation of Caius House
  • Contributing by providing children and young people with a fun and stimulating environment, providing valuable life lessons, and promoting positive personal development


We aim to provide volunteers a meaningful experience so that you can progress into new roles and employment, so full training and supervision is provided.

We will also be upskilling our volunteers on safeguarding, health and safety, youth work, session facilitation and more.

In addition to this support all our volunteers will be provided with a 'work buddy', who will assist you every step of the way, ensuring that the highest standards of youth work are met and maintained during your time with us.

Particularly useful for individuals wanting to get into events management little or no experience

  • Caius House provides the perfect learning/training environment for all who are interested in getting into youth work. We pride ourselves on encouraging creativity, innovation, and best work practice.

You do not have to have a formal qualification to volunteer for our event coordinator positions (as we offer extensive training), however we are looking for the following from our volunteers:


Essential:


  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check
    (formerly CRB)

A minimum commitment of 3 sessions per year

  • Willingness to undergo training and attend occasional team meetings
  • Experience of interacting with young people between the ages of 21
  • Be able to communicate effectively with young people and colleagues, no matter their background, race, faith, gender, ability etc.

Desirable:


  • Good organisational skills attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Display flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Present professionally in a way that is a positively reflects the expectations of Caius House
  • The ability to be reliable, nonjudgemental and display patience and good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from coworkers
  • An understanding of working with people with disabilities is preferable but not essential the
