£32k-£35k (FTE) depending on experience
Job type:
Full time 37.5 hours a week, 4 days a week considered.
Home based, with 1-2 days a week (this is flexible to 1-2 days a month) at the British Liver Trust office in Winchester.
The Company:
The British Liver Trust is the leading UK charity for adults at risk of, or affected by, any type of liver disease.
There is a lack of awareness and understanding ofthe range and causes of liver disease and liver cancer, which needs to change.
The British Liver Trust is growing, but we need to be much, much bigger to tackle this crisis.
You are a team player but can work well alone too, meeting deadlines and priorities; you are great at research and passionate about stewardship; you can communicate brilliantly over the phone, in person and in writing; and you can create a compelling Casefor Support.
If you have 3+ years' experience fundraising from charitable trusts, a passion for good health and a creative way with words, you could be just what we are looking for.
The Role:
To raise core and project income for the British Liver Trust from charitable trusts and foundations (and the statutory sector where possible) to enable the charity to deliver its ambitious growth strategy.
Grants from charitable trusts and foundations make up around one third of the charity's income, a crucial income stream which creates stability and security and enables us to deliver high quality services for those at risk of, or affected by, any liver condition.
Experience:
Essential
- Experience and evidence of successful fundraising from charitable trusts and foundations
- Evidence of fundraising success, increasing funding from existing donors, and opening up new sources of income
- An understanding of funding from the statutory sector
- An understanding of other fundraising streams
- Developing a successful major donor and/or legacy income programme
- Experience of working in a health charity
- An understanding of social media in relation to fundraising and charity communications
Skills:
- Excellent team communication and a collaborative approach
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent writing skills including attention to detail and an ability to develop a clear Case for Support
- Demonstrable commitment to highest levels of customer service
- Excellent IT skills, especially Word and Excel; good working knowledge of using the internet to support your work
- Ability to manage projects and work streams to achieve timetables and important deadlines, and deliver against commitments
- Understanding and empathy of the issues the charity is concerned with
