Hours of Work:
Normally expected to work 7 hours per week on Sundays only.

Hours are 7.00am until 2.00pm, during term time with possible extra weeks

Line Manager Catering Manager Responsible to: The Head

Salary £13.00 per hour

AIM To cook breakfast, lunch and supper for the boarding children and staff.

To ensure that excellent standards of food hygiene are maintained at all times and that food is presented to a high standard.

To clear up and ensure a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To maintain a clean working environment at all times, following Food Hygiene Regulations, in the Undercroft, Servery, Kitchen and Washing Up Area.
  • To prepare & cook food for the Boarders
  • To assist with the serving of food.
  • To wash up utensils used in the preparation of food and crockery and cutlery used in the Undercroft.
  • To unpack and safely store food and kitchen deliveries.
  • To be aware and adhere at all times to food hygiene regulations.
  • To assist with the safe and clean storage of all kitchen/dining equipment.
  • To maintain high levels of personal presentation which in turn reflect on the presentation of food.
  • To maintain a professional code of conduct in relation to pupils at all times.
  • To assist with the smooth running of the Dining Hall, helping to maintain high standards of manners and courtesy amongst pupils at all times.
  • To be proactive in the management of Health and Safety in the kitchen and associated areas.

i. Adhere to policies as set out in the employment handbook and staff handbooks.

j. Undertake other reasonable duties related to the job purpose required from time to time.

Salisbury Cathedral School:
