Ambition is thrilled to be working with a financial professional services firm based in Central London who are seeking a Consultant Finance Director to join the finance function team.


The Firm


An SME focused professional services advisor that delivers tailored advice to ensure businesses are managing their business strategy and personal wealth.

They pride themselves in ensuring that accounts and tax compliances are met. They are branded as the resolution to generating value to businesses through their critical business process support.


The Role


As a Consultant Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the financial functions to meet the clients' requisite needs.

A client facing role within the financial function team that comprises of qualified Accountants, Bookkeepers, Business Analysts, Technology Analysts, Finance Managers and Finance Directors who are based in the UK and India.

Your focus will be on the following 3 areas:


Client Delivery

  • Manage and design Finance Function systems and compliance routines across SME client portfolios as well as engagement types. Including Business Modelling, Finance Functions, Cashflow Management. Management Reporting and Compliance.
  • Oversee project teams of various roles in the Finance Function.
  • Present MI to clients for them to understand the importance of tactical strategic insights about their business.

Client Management

  • The first point of contact for your assigned portfolio of clients, managing and growing on going client relationships.
  • Proactive resolving any delivery issues in a timely manner.
  • Commercially responsible for ensuring fees are efficiently calculated and dealing with debtor issues.

Business Development

  • Pursue new opportunities that will add value to your client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with other teams internally within the firm.
  • Consistently contribute to business development activity and new client pitches.
  • An accounting of finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CFA etc).
  • You have hands on experience working with Xero and software eco system of other SME finance tools that can API into Xero.
  • Experienced in spreadsheet skills on both Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Confident with pivot tables, advanced chart building, lookups and logic formula.
  • Advanced in building business models specifically with cash flow forecasts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication to create professional slide decks to present in a board room like setting.

Experience

  • Preferably have previously worked for a large national firm or reputable boutique outfit.
  • More than 3 years post qualified and ideally working within a consulting, corporate finance role and FP&A.
  • Some experience working with entrepreneur led business and SME.
