Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with good interpersonal skills to work in our busy aseptic unit within the pharmacy department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Your duties will be varied including aseptic preparation of products, working within a clean room environment.

The aseptic service is a growing and progressive team that makes personalised medicines in specialised clean room environments.


You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills in order to provide an efficient and safe pharmacy service for patients and the running of the service in a busy environment.

Applicants must hold the QCF/ NVQ level 2 pharmacy services qualification or equivalent.


The main duties will involve undertaking general aseptic service duties that include preparation of medicines, assembling and transferring drugs and consumables into the aseptic service clean rooms following standard operating procedures.

Participating in documentation creation on software systems, conducting cleaning of aseptic rooms and associated equipment. Supporting the stock maintenance service, ensuring that sufficient quantities of drugs and consumables are ordered. You will be part of the team ensuring that all work is completed in the deadlines assigned.

Duties will include:


  • Aseptic preparation of products, working within a clean room environment.
  • Preparation and checking of documentation and stock control.
  • Cleaning of the aseptic rooms and equipment.
  • Office cover including label and worksheet generation and telephone queries.
  • All work will be carried out within the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practice.
