We are currently seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Philosophy & Ethics to develop, design and deliver a range of courses and modules at undergraduate and (potentially) postgraduate levels here at Bath Spa University.

About the Role:

The teaching of philosophy and ethics at BSU forms a critical part of our applied, interdisciplinary humanities curriculum, and of our commitment to equipping all our students with the skills they will need both during their studies and subsequently.

Within your role you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging teaching and assessment across various modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You'll play a crucial role in supporting student learning and development, including their professional growth, and aiding in career planning.

You will also contribute to pedagogical advancements and curricular planning, aligning with our teaching and learning strategy.

In addition, you will manage student placements and projects, both internally and with external partners, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and processes, whilst undertaking administrative tasks, student recruitment, and research projects.

About You:

You will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and a proven track record of successful teaching in higher education, emphasising ethics and applied philosophy.

You will bring expertise in the Study of Religions and possess experience in interdisciplinary collaboration in both teaching and research.

You will also be able to clearly demonstrate proficiency in curriculum design at various levels and have a knack for developing public engagement activities in philosophy and ethics.

In addition, you will be able to showcase teaching and research experience in philosophy and ethics from diverse perspectives, such as global or non-western philosophies, philosophy of religion, or social and political philosophy.

As a proactive self-starter, you will have a flexible, collaborative approach and be adaptive to change.

Additional Information:

- **Applicants with less than five years teaching experience in Higher Education of at least 0.8FTE or equivalent who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to complete an approved Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education course during the first two years of employment.**- **

Grade AC3 £42,978 - £54,395
