Page Personnel is partnering with a not for profit organisation who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their accountancy team on a full time permanent basis.


Client Details
Our client is a not for profit organisation who have seen rapid growth in the past 12 months. They are based in Fareham and do require travel to their offices.


Description
As the Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain the purchase ledger, recording invoices onto the OPERA register as they are received and distributing them to services as appropriate for authorisation, dealing with queries within the purchase ledger.
  • Prepare the weekly payment runs, including the miscellaneous BACS run and cheques as required, recording and posting all payments in the appropriate places.
  • Reconciling all PL statements.
  • Maintain the various utility contracts spreadsheets, including gas, electric and phones. Collate, code and post to the nominal ledger.
  • Prepare and maintain accruals and prepayments, and at month end ensure correctly coded and posted to the nominal ledger.
  • Liaise with external agencies on behalf of staff and clients as directed by the Finance team leader.
  • Maintain finance records, as required and ensure all manual, computerised records and information are stored, as appropriate
  • Attend staff meetings and support and appraisal sessions as required.
  • Attend appropriate training to meet needs identified by line manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties, as requested by a senior manager.

Profile
To be successful for the Purchase Ledger Clerk role, you must:

  • Must have 2 years experience plus of Purchase Ledger procedures.
  • Able to cope with large volumes of invoices and process in a timely manner.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft package including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Pegasus Opera accounts package.
  • Good Team player but able to work on own initiative.

Job Offer
**Salary £20,000 - £23,000
