The Team:

The internal audit service is an independent function that provides an objective assurance and consultancy service.

It aims to help the organisation accomplish its objectives by evaluating the effectiveness of its risk management, governance, operations and internal controls.


The role of the internal audit service is to undertake audit work for the group as agreed with management and the Audit & Risk Management Committee (ARMC).

The service helps to promote and support organisation's improvement and efficiency by evaluating governance, structures, projects, policies, processes, systems and controls.


The Group Internal Audit Manager is the head of the internal audit service, reporting to the ARMC and the Chief Financial Officer.


About the role:


  • Provide high quality audit assignments in accordance with recognised professional audit standards.
  • Simultaneously undertake several large and / or complex audit assignments across the organisation.
  • Liaise and meet with staff at all levels to perform the audits.
  • Determine the scope of work for individual audits in conjunction with the applicable director or senior manager.
  • Prepare and issue key deliverables including terms of reference and audit reports.
  • Identify audit recommendations, negotiate acceptance of these with clients and track their progress.
  • Provide guidance to key staff within to encourage and enable them to improve their processes and controls.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Appropriate professional audit qualification/ part qualified ACA, ACCA or IIA
  • Influencing and negotiating
  • Analysis and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication
  • Significant internal audit experience including demonstrable expertise in: Application of riskbased audit techniques.
  • Business & Finance Controls
  • IT General Controls
