    About this Role:

    Join a leading national main contractor on a major 350m new build research and development facility project with office space located near Newbury, Berkshire.

    The construction of the shell and core for two buildings is well underway. As Construction Site Manager, your area of focus will be mainly internal fit out trades.

    You will work on large multi-storey RC and steel framed buildings providing research and development laboratories, engineering space, teaching areas, office space, communal areas, etc.

    Main works are scheduled to run through into late 2026. You will manage site-based construction activities including safe and successful delivery, short-term programming, company health and safety standards, review of method statements and risk assessments.

    You will also oversee site logistics, quality control, permits, inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against programmes, issue resolution, snagging and handover.

    This career opportunity gives you experience working on a major project outside London, understanding how a major project team operates, and managing large areas of work.

    About the Company/Client/Project:

    The role involves working with a well-established main contractor with a strong track record in delivering projects ranging from 50m to 350m across various sectors including commercial, defence, aviation, etc.

    This contractor has an excellent reputation for training, development, and progression opportunities within the business.

    They have a low turnover of staff and long-term career employees in key management and director positions.

    Requirements and qualifications:

    To succeed in this role, you must be highly motivated and proactive with excellent technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills.

    A proven track record of 2-5 years working for and developing within a top twenty main contractor is advantageous.

    You will ideally come from a construction management, engineering or apprenticeship route background, be educated to degree level or similar NVQ level, with attention to detail and quality throughout.

    Forward-thinking and resourceful individuals with the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the big picture, and possess a positive approach will excel in this role.

    Required qualifications include SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications.
