Job Introduction

UK Technology (UKT) is responsible for architecting, developing and securing IT solutions for the UK Business (including Handelsbanken Wealth Management).

This role sits within the Services & Infrastructure department that supports the Banks service delivery, technical infrastructure, end user support and IT continuity capabilities.

This role is Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 and is based in either the London or Manchester office.

Main Responsibilities

You will have overall responsibility for a suite of ITSM capabilities including IT change, release, configuration and service readiness.

You will provide direction and advice to your team to support them making improvements to their assigned processes, ensuring these are operated to a high standard and in line with Bank requirements.

You will be expected to help prioritise and drive forward improvement initiatives for your assigned capabilities.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day direction of a team of process specialists (between 1 and 5)
  • Identify, prioritise and implement service improvement initiatives for your assigned capabilities
  • Working with Group process owners and operators to ensure that UK processes and procedures are compliant with Group minimum standards and intragroup handoffs operate smoothly and strong relationships are maintained
  • You will establish and chair the IT Change & Release Working Group, drawing colleagues from across the business to steer and support the role out of enhancements to the change and release processes
  • Administering the recording of activities, logging of results and documents technical release activities, ensuring releases adhere to established safety, security and quality standards
  • Supporting development teams with packaging and deploying software changes and updates for release into a live environment
  • Assessing and analysing release components for input to release scheduling
  • Maintaining release processes and procedures
  • Leading the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages, including assessment of risk
  • Liaising with business and technology teams on release scheduling and communication of progress. Conducts postrelease reviews
  • Ensuring that release processes and procedures are applied and that releases can be rolled back as needed
  • Identifying, evaluating and managing the adoption of appropriate release and deployment techniques, processes and automation tools
  • Ensuring that test, validation and configuration management are included in all release and deployment activities
  • Providing authorisation for critical release activity and point of escalation
  • Actively managing release based risks and dependencies, providing crossteam synchronisation
  • In conjunction with the IT Change Manager, chairing UK Change Advisory Board
  • Leading the coordination and delivery of an effectively controlled and governed service readiness process
  • Identifying, managing and documenting risks associated with deployment of new or changed services
  • Ensuring that change, release and service readiness processes, procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date. Providing appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers
  • Deputising for the Service Delivery Manager where required

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in a Change/Release Lead, Service Readiness Manager role or similar
  • Tenacious attitude with the ability to instigate improvements to processes and procedures across an organisation, managing resistance to change in a manner that is both assertive and sensitive to our organisational culture
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
  • The successful applicant will be required to work with colleagues at every level of the organisations and with a wide variety of disciplines
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge of control frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory guidance, including: ISO 27001, ISO20000, COBIT, ITIL, BIAN, FCA/PRA, CHAPS, LINK
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyse, articulate and present complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Professional standard of presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and an organised approach to work

Desirable

  • Experience working in a SAFe and/or certified SAFe
  • ITIL certified
  • Previously experience in a mixed delivery environment with waterfall, agile and DevOps teams at various stages of maturity
  • Previous team leader experience
  • Previously worked at an organisation going through a large scale technology modernisation program
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Financial Services experience, in particular Banking and/or Wealth Management
  • Experience working with a large outsourc
