We are offering between £25,360 - £38,040 per annum depending on your experience. A company van is also provided.
Working both indoors and outside, with no one day being the same provides a very interesting working environment.

You will be presented with unique challenges whether it's using your expertise to diagnose a fault or working with your team mate to install replacementplant and equipment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Data collection and monitoring
  • Operation of plant and equipment, including fault finding and minor installations complying with current standards and regulations
  • To provide specialist technical advice where appropriate with uptodate technical knowledge, and provide training support for technical trainees
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at work regulations and Thames Water's Health and Safety guidelines.

What you should bring to the role:

  • You should be a time served apprentice with a NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering or a related mechanical/electrical qualification.
  • Experience working on related in a industry stores department or similar store/parts department with skills transferrable from another sector, would be beneficial.
EG motor industry, HGV or PSV maintenance or Civil engineering maintenance.

  • Experience working on large industrial plant equipment including various pumps within the utilities industry would be beneficial. Would suit mechanical maintenance/service engineer or mechanic from any industry.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
  • The work will require physical fitness as you will work in within and manual handling and often physically demanding role.
  • A valid driving licence is essential and all necessary equipment such as tools are provided.
  • Process skill an advantage but not a must

    desire to learn from those around you, and have a cando attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too

Proactive - take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively

New learning- to eventually learn the Process side, to stop and start water treatment works to carry out maintenance

Gas- working around liquid and gas sites. reacting to alarms / changing cylinders over
