We're currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an IT Controls Tester within the IT Risk & Assurance team.

As an IT Controls Tester, you will play a crucial role in designing Risk & Control Matrix for general IT controls across the organization.


As part of this role, you will be responsible for testing the design and operational effectiveness of controls across Serco.

You will ensure that testing is executed to the highest standards, as well as providing insightful recommendations to the business to support effective remediation activities where required.


Key accountabilities:
Complete Risk & Control Matrix (RACM) Agree templates for controls. Review and write controls as needed. Develop new processes where required. Design Testing Schedules for controls. Perform testing of RACM and drive continuous improvement into BAU State.

Act as the focal point and escalation for IT colleagues, driving risk management culture and behaviours through regular interactions with people across the organisation.

Understand and document the business risk profile and key processes for the relevant business areas and, where appropriate, complete targeted risk assessments in conjunction with the business.

Responsible for implementing SOX controls.


What you'll need to do the role: Strong understanding of risk and controls frameworks. Sound knowledge and experience of SOX. Ideally you will have experience working within a large global organisation. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately. Good analytical skills, including trend analysis. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to generate recommendations for senior stakeholders. Experience in generating risk papers for the board. Capability to provide constructive challenge. Adaptive to change with a positive attitude. Innovative approach to problem-solving. Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
