A little bit about what we are looking for...
Within this role, you will contribute towards the delivery of an effective internal audit service to PA Housing.


We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; You will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training.

It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too


Your responsibilities...

  • Support the formulation of PA Housing's threeyear internal audit strategy and annual internal audit plan
  • Deliver agreed audits within the approved plan, ensuring an appropriate audit scope, comprehensive fieldwork, high quality audit files and professional draft internal audit report including robust recommendations with agreed management responses to pre agreed timescales for review by the Head of Risk & Assurance
  • Track the implementation of internal audit recommendations made and produce reports which summarise the internal audit service provision for presentation to Senior Management Team, Executive Management Team and Finance, Risk & Audit Committee
  • Obtain, monitor and report on satisfaction in the internal audit service
  • Work to develop productive but professional relationships with managers across the business, ensuring that the integrity of the internal audit function is not compromised and that any concerns or disputes are appropriately escalated for resolution if necessary
  • Contribute towards establishment and maintenance of a robust internal controls assurance framework throughout PA Housing
  • Assist with the business effort towards maintaining a robust risk management framework in all areas of the business
  • Support the organisational approach to regulatory and statutory compliance, in pursuit of top regulatory gradings for governance
  • Contribute to the organisational fraud prevention and detection effort
  • Assist the Head of Risk & Assurance with risk and assurance reporting to Board and Committees
  • Provide limited cover for the Insurance Officer during periods of absence in order to ensure the continued timely administration of insurance claims

  • Recognised internal audit qualification and practical
  • Recognised accountancy qualification
  • Social Housing sector experience
  • Experience of working within an internal audit function
  • Experience of the functions which are typically found within a housing association or property management environment
