Rotherham Council's Children's Services have continued from strength to strength, most recently being deemed "Good" by.

We're currently recruiting Casual Residential Practitioners to join our current provision and to work across several settings including residential homes, emergency accommodation family home and foster placements.

The new Casual Residential Practitioners will play an active role in delivering in-house residential care for Rotherham's looked after children.

As part of this role, you will:

Provide high-quality care and interventions to children and young people in various settings to ensure their protection and well-being.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of each child or young person, meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
Support education and transition to independence for children and young people.
Manage daytoday operations including activities, meals, personal care and medication administration.

Restorative Practice and Signs of Safety and other agreed evidence based therapeutic and behavioral management approaches and practice models.

Create and maintain a safe and stimulating environment that meets our health and safety standards.

About you
You will be a Level 3 registered practitioner with experience working within a residential setting.

You may otherwise be an experienced caregiver with skills and experience that match our requirements. This might be experience you earned in a residential or similar setting, whether that's statutory or non-statutory.

You'll be a committed member of the team, seeking to inspire and support some of our most complex young people.

Sometimes this will involve solo provision, supported by a deputy and registered manager. As part of the residential team you will be required to work evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts as needed.

As a Casual Residential Practitioner, your availability must be flexible and you must be able to travel to various children's home settings to meet the needs of the service.
