The role:


To adjust claims within a designated individual authority limit and assist in the technical management and control of a claims portfolio (including Coverholders, MGAs and TPAs) to provide a prompt and efficient service to the market and to protect the Company's financial interests by ensuring the validity of claim payments and adequate reserving.


Key accountabilities:


  • Adjust, and authorise claim settlements and fees within a designated individual authority limit, from first advice through to final settlement (including desktop claims, TPA bordereaux adjusting, reconciliation, processing and technical reserving.
  • Where applicable on Syndicate claims fulfil the requirements of Lloyd's Claims Scheme and Lloyd's Claims Management Principles.
  • Liaise and negotiate with clients, brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers in the adjustment and settlement of claims, including UK and overseas travel, where necessary.
  • Assist with the preparation for and participate in the client auditing/visiting programme.
  • Process advices and settlements on CLASS/ ECF.
  • Review and examine claims bordereaux and aggregate excess programmes.
  • Deal with referrals from Coverholders/ TPA's or internal claims adjusters for claims that exceed their authority or present complex issues.
  • Maintain contact with and monitor activities of external claims administrators and claims outsourcing partners to ensure they are in line with required business practice.
  • Communicate with the Underwriters on general claim matters to assist with policy provisions, reserving, and claims experience and client liaison.
  • Deal with telephone or correspondence queries for brokers and clients or make appropriate referrals.
  • Organise the provision of administrative services, maintain records and provide management information.
  • Operate and utilise the inhouse IT system and that of external service providers for data input, reporting, data interrogation and report generation as required.
  • Oversee and manage the provision of claims experience reports for brokers and clients
  • Assist customers in making claims and where applicable, resolving customer service issues, ensuring their prompt and timely resolution and quality of the service provided by the team, is within specified levels
