This very rewarding role will give buddy support to our energetic and fun-loving 17-year-old client.

Along with a great sense of humour he loves sporting activities and attending/playing in football matches, he is a very sociable teenager who would love a buddy to cheer on his team and join him in his activities and outings.

He is studying Sports Coaching at college and will be starting driving lessons soon and is keen to explore paid employment soon too.

The Role:

Our client lives at home with his family and pet cat and enjoys lots of activities, with his passion being sport and both attending football matches and playing football.

You would be accompanying him on these outings and helping him explore new activities and develop new skills.

You will assist with travel to college on a Monday and spend time assisting him with his organisation of the week ahead.

Tasks such as encouraging his independence with domestic duties including laundry, preparing sports kit and other clothes and meal preparation would be a few areas where support is needed.

Evening support will be a combination of downtime such as playing video games, college work, facilitating meet ups with friends and engagement in leisure activities.

He has hearing and physical impairments, but these are hardly noticeable, you will however notice that he is very chatty and has a great sense of humour and fun.

Our client is fully mobile, and no personal care is required in this role.

He has a slight right-sided weakness so you will help support him when required along with preparing meals and snacks for him.

About You:

Ideally, you will have some Support Work/Care experience but more important is your attitude and aptitude for the job as full training will be provided.

You will be a driver with a full clean licence and access to a car as you will be taking our client out and about, car mileage at the standard HMRC rate will be reimbursed as will the additional premium for business insurance.

You will be flexible around the hours you can work in order to accommodate his social activity requirements.

You will be a reliable, patient, happy person with a fun-loving personality who has a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a young person with additional needs.

You will enjoy taking our client out to activities such as football matches and youth/sports clubs, going to the gym, and playing video games with him.

You will be pro-active in working with our client to plan activities and encourage his independence.

Whilst engaging with him in the social and leisure activities he currently undertakes, you will also be proactive in exploring other activities he may enjoy.
