- Support Operations through development, embedding and promotion of health and safety standards within the Company and implementing and maintaining Company Health & Safety, policies, procedures, standards and working practices; enhancing the safety culture within the business ensuring a focus towards zero accidents and injury
- To ensure the Health & Safety Policy and supporting procedures are implemented consistently across the Company
- To monitor, evaluate and review Health & Safety policy and practices, make recommendations and amend as required
- To advise on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations, and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Company
- Develop and deliver in-house training with managers and employees on all relevant aspects of health and safety
- Ensure the Health & Safety function provide the required expertise to all areas of the business, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Work within all business areas to ensure Health & Safety standards are appropriately implemented within their areas of control and are sufficiently robust for anticipated demands
- Provide input for regular Health & Safety communications for all levels of staff to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefings
- Support CSR strategy and appropriate actions.
- Hold a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a similar role within a FMCG/Manufacturing environment.
- Strong working experience of H&S systems and legislation such as ISO45001/ISO 14001
- Strong & confident communicator and good stakeholder management skills.

About the Role
The Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with the wider operations team to develop and implement Border's health and safety strategy. You will play a key role in ensuring that Border is a safe and compliant place to work by fostering a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation, encouraging collaboration, and supporting the principles of the "Border Way".
What Are We Looking For?
At Border, we are a family run business who, since 1984, have been making Beautifully Crafted Biscuits. We are a leading supplier of premium biscuits based in Scotland, and we produce the number one chocolate ginger biscuit in the UK. Our amazing biscuits are produced for many major supermarkets, retailers and businesses not only in the UK, but internationally.
We believe that biscuits are one of life's little pleasures…and are our greatest passion. We believe biscuits should be nothing short of exceptional and we are proud to make ours just that.
In our Lanark factory, we have a team of approx. 180 people who have a passion for achieving outstanding quality, whether they are sourcing ingredients, weighing, mixing, baking or packing.
