Autoweb Design is looking for a Junior Software Tester to join our team in Selby.

At Autoweb Design we aim to ensure we create a high performance, high engagement culture where we enable all our people to bring their best selves to work.

Reporting to the Head Software Tester, as a Junior Tester you will receive full training and mentoring, you will be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment.

Once fully trained you will be responsible for conducting manual tests to ensure the software created by Software Engineers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it is deployed to everyday users.

Working closely with software engineers you will ensure tests are fit for purpose and provide adequate coverage. You will be required to produce detailed test reports to provide an audit trail of the overall testing and software development process, Ensuring issues and defects are reported with the required detail

This Junior testing role will require a driven and enthusiastic individual wanting to learn, who excels in attention to detail, has high standards and enjoys testing new technologies.

You will have a 'can do' attitude, have a helpful, friendly personality and have the ability to engage positively with all areas of the business, with a shared goal of constant improvement.

A basic understanding of JQL and SQL and various testing techniques and terminology such as Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, Acceptance Testing and an understanding of some basic development practices & methodologies such as Agile, Sprints, Kanban etc would be advantageous but not must haves as full training will be given.

main duties and areas of responsibility once fully trained:_
- carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing
- write bug reports

Liaise with product team and other key stakeholders to discuss findings and assess any issues discovered
Liaise with Software Engineers, providing feedback and outlining any issues
Troubleshoot and problem solve
Review documentation
Work towards departmental and project deadlines

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
Up to £22,000.00 per year
