    At Stonecrest Housing, we support vulnerable adults and families who are at risk of homelessness. Our goal is to provide high-quality housing management and tailored support to help residents move towards independent living. We empower our residents with the skills and confidence to manage their tenancies, maintain their homes, and build stable, fulfilling lives.

    Your New Role

    As a Housing Support Worker, you'll be part of a dedicated team delivering intensive housing management and support services across our properties in Birmingham.

    You'll manage a caseload of residents, each with different needs and circumstances. You'll meet residents regularly—both through scheduled weekly sessions and ad hoc visits—to offer practical and emotional support.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Managing a portfolio of properties and ensuring a high standard of accommodation.
    • Building trusting relationships with residents to help them achieve their support goals.
    • Assisting residents with tenancy management, budgeting, and developing life skills.
    • Acting as an advocate and signposting residents to relevant local services such as employment, education, healthcare, and debt advice.
    • Liaising with partner agencies, landlords, and support organisations to ensure coordinated care.
    • Monitoring resident progress, recording outcomes, and reporting concerns promptly.
    • Managing risks effectively and responding to challenging behaviour appropriately.

    What You'll Need to Succeed

    You'll be a compassionate, reliable, and motivated individual who genuinely wants to make a difference. You should be confident working both independently and as part of a team.

    Experience in housing or support work is desirable, but a caring attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

    Desirable experience and skills:

    • Experience supporting vulnerable adults affected by homelessness, mental health issues, domestic abuse, substance misuse, or offending behaviour.
    • Knowledge of tenancy and housing management practices.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with residents and professionals.
    • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
    • Ability to assess and manage risk in challenging situations.
    • Flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    Requirements:

    • Full UK Driving Licence (essential – travel between properties required).
    • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferred).
    • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (preferred).

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: £12.21-£13.88 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
