Role Summary
EQ is seeking a Tester to join a new implementation team responsible for onboarding Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) Schemes.


Significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background is required, preferably with knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuities.


The core activities of the Equiniti Tester are: to design and write test scripts, to identify and manufacture test data, to manually execute test scripts, to raise and retest bugs, to provide support to business acceptance test teams and to ensure and maintaina level of quality excellence for all Equiniti Group products.


Business Function
EQ Pensions Operations delivers an excellent service across our diverse client base.

Our Pensions Administration teams are responsible for keeping accurate and compliant pension records for our clients and pension scheme members.

For the provision of all the other aspects of members' pensions, our administration function is key. Our people, our Administrator platform and its integrated mobile-friendly web tools, are key elements in delivering this.

Leading-edge responsive web toolsand contact centre facilities help members to engage with their retirement wealth as they progress along their journey to retirement.


Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Understand requirements, design specifications and convert them into test scripts;
  • Identify / generate test data required for test execution;
  • Manually execute test scripts in multiple browsers and devices;
  • Analyse test results to ensure data integrity and accuracy;
  • Responsible for logging and tracking defects, and will work closely with developers, project managers, and product managers to ensure quality testing is taking place in a timely manner;
  • Support business users carrying out Business Acceptance Testing;
  • Provide effective communication to all stakeholders to support the delivery of the test activity;
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge on current technologies, tools and software test methodologies;
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across Equiniti UK delivery teams;
  • Act as a test lead in the management of QA delivery reporting directly to the overall Onboarding Manager;
  • Adherence to all Regulatory, Security and Compliance requirements.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Strong SQL scripting skills;
  • Experience of waterfall and agile methodologies across multiple projects;
  • Experience in use of defect management tools, in particular Team Foundation Server;
  • Experience of cross browser/device, responsive and accessibility testing;
  • Experience in the financial sector;
  • Ability to communicate about IT and technology in plainEnglish and in nontechnical terms to colleagues and Clients;
  • Must be flexible, independent and selfmotivated;
  • Ability to work calmly and methodically when under pressure;
  • Experience of automated testing tools is desirable.

Technical Background

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server;
  • MS SQL.
