    Minimum 5 sessions


    Job Summary

    To work as an autonomous general practitioner integrated with the primary healthcare team, exercising professional autonomy and clinical judgment in delivering high-quality evidence-based care.

    Job Responsibilities

    1. Provide appropriate care for patients with a full range of healthcare problems, including acute illnesses and chronic disease management.
    2. Assess patients with undifferentiated healthcare problems.
    3. Consult at times required by the practice, providing face-to-face/telephone consultations and home visits when necessary.
    4. Maintain the clinical record in an optimum form, including an up-to-date list of active clinical problems and medication.
    5. Respond to prescription requests/completed medicines management tasks on the day of receipt in accordance with local/national guidance.
    6. Respond in a timely fashion to miscellaneous clinical and administrative functions communicated via various channels.
    7. Participate in local and national enhanced services and quality initiatives agreed by the practice.
    8. Share in the duty doctor rota on a pro-rata basis according to sessional commitment.

    Teaching and Training Participation

    The Rycote practice places emphasis on undergraduate and postgraduate education, having been a teaching and training practice for many years. GPs are given protected time to supervise medical students and de-brief registrars.

    2. Clinical effectiveness meetings
    3. Primary health care team meetings
    4. Clinical governance meetings
    5. Protected time for learning educational events
    6. Miscellaneous other clinical, audit or educational meetings

    Contribute to the development and ongoing evaluation of clinical and operational policies within the Practice. The Rycote Practice will cover Wednesday and Thursday mornings, Tuesday evenings, alternate Thursday evenings, and Saturday 08:30-10:30.

    Practice in accordance with the GMC's Good Medical Practice and comply with all Practice and ICB protocols, procedures, guidelines, and policies.
