Saheliya's Around The World Nursery is a not for profit, social enterprise governed by Saheliya. Our aim is to provide a high quality, affordable, safe, caring and stimulating childcare service to the local community.

You will be working in a fun, caring environment; working to develop warm relationships with the children in your care.

You will also work with the staff team to ensure provision of a consistent, quality experience for all parents and children.

Main Duties:

• To share the ongoing planning, training, and selfevaluation tasks with the Nursery Manager and to support staff in implementing new practices.
• To engage with developments and changing expectations from the Care Inspectorate, Education Scotland, and other educational bodies and to help ensure that staff practice and children's experience continue to evolve and are high quality.
• To assist the Nursery Manager with some of the administrative tasks involved in running the Nursery e.g children's registration and care plans.
• To keep uptodate with mandatory training at Manager level, especially Child Protection.
• To support and challenge at practitioner and manager level.
• To be available for regular meetings to reflect on progress, to plan, and to support change.

Person Specification:

• Working towards, or have achieved, an SVQ4 or equivalent childcare qualification.
• Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of current ELC theories and best practice in relation to 05 year olds.
• Able to demonstrate a flexible, responsive, and problemsolving approach to challenges within an early years setting.
• Experience of supporting families of children with additional support for learning would be an advantage.

Working hours:
Monday - Friday, 1pm to 6pm (8am - 6pm, 8am - 1pm, negotiable)
