W e are seeking highly motivated, professional Theatre practitioners to lead a team within a very busy, multi specialty Theatre unit.
We are looking for dynamic individuals, with excellent leadership skills and an in-depth knowledge of Upper GI, Vascular, Urology, Colo-rectal, Endocrine and General Surgeries.
You will have the motivation, vision and leadership qualities necessary to lead a successful theatre team.As a key member of the C Theatres, senior team, you will be required to deliver high standards of perioperative care, and have the ability to support and develop your team to meet the needs of an ever changing and fast evolving theatre department.
Within C Theatres we enjoy the reputation of being a Centre of Excellence in surgical intervention in minor/intermediate and major surgical specialties and have the luxury of working in our newly built £20 million Hybrid vascular suite.
As part of the Aintree Vascular Centre this gives all of our patients access to innovative, image guided surgery in a state of the art purpose built unit.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Clinical Responsibilities
Coordination of the theatre on a day to day basis including planning, allocation and evaluation of work carried out by teams or individuals and self.
Provide specialist knowledge to all theatre staff on the unit
Will promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of nursing care, ensuring that the environment is responsive to current issues.
Develop methods for identifying, maintaining and improving the quality of patient care through facilitation of best practice and clinical benchmarking.
Explore and undertake expanded practice to optimise patient care as required within specialist area, in accordance with Trust policies.
Management/Leadership Responsibilities
Exercise strong and effective leadership, acting as an exemplary role model for the department team.
Maintain adequate staff cover and skill mix on the unit through effective use of staffing rotas
Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training and maintain current records
Ensure effective communication with patients and their carers.
Liaise with nursing, medical and allied health professional colleagues to ensure that all facets of the patients care are covered.
Ensure effective communication with relatives, community nursing staff, other hospitals and local agencies to facilitate the smooth transfer and after-care of patients/clients.
Ensure that the department participates in maintaining standards relating to clinical governance.
Responsible for the implementation of risk management policies within the department, including the development, implementation and monitoring of action plans to address identified risks.
