We are looking for a fantastic interim Head of People (maternity cover)


Terms:
1-2 days per week for 6 months starting in late January 2023, £400-£500 per day (this role is outside of IR35)


Reporting to:
Mark Nicholson, CEO


Location:
Old Street, with flexible working and WfH.

About the role
We raised our Series A in 2021 and the company has doubled in size since then.

You'll have experience working with fast-growing companies and experience of the People challenges and opportunities that come with rapid expansion.

The key project you'll be delivering is implementing a new performance management system, while providing coaching, mentoring and support to our People team.


VivaCity's People team looks after every stage of the employee lifecycle, ensuring our employees are motivated and fulfilled in their roles.

In the past year the People team has grown from one person to four, and our remit has expanded to include business operations and facilities management.


What you'll be doing:


  • Using your extensive expertise to redesign our performance management process and work with the People team to implement, roll out and measure uptake of a new performance management tool (we're going to be using Lattice);
  • Running training on the new system;
  • Using a coaching management style to look after and develop our People team;
  • Supporting the team in the development of new quarterly OKRs in line with the People strategy;
  • Being a sounding board for managers with People questions or issues when they arise;
  • Supporting our directors on highlevel People issues when necessary.

What does success in this role look like?:

  • You'll build on the strengths of our current performance management system and design a new system that meets VivaCity's needs as a high-growth company.
  • You'll work with the People team and Directors to get buyin from key stakeholders across the business and ensure you're implementing a system that is widely used.

What we need to see:


  • Experience implementing new performance management processes and systems from scratch;
  • Experience running 360 review processes;
  • Experience in highgrowth start
- or scale-up environments, and an ability to adapt strategies and approaches as necessary;

  • Experience implementing Lattice (nice to have);
  • Experience working with boards to deliver strategic People goals (nice to have).
