About me


I am an adult male with Quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury I obtained during a stock car racing accident in 2001.

I like being active and as independent as my body allows and its important for me to have continuity of regular and reliable support workers.


I require support with personal care and assistance with dressing and getting into my wheelchair, continence care and bowel management.

I may also require assistance preparing meals and drinks, and general day to day tasks.


Hours and rate of Pay
Monday to Friday and weekends (possibly working on 2 week rolling rota)

The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)


_ Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required._

What you would be doing:


  • Support with personal care in a dignified manor, meal preparation and cooking, maintain a daily routine for assistance with medication.
  • Support with every day chores, laundry, maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard and possibly help with shopping.
  • Establish a close working relationship on a onetoone basis.
  • Discuss and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Maintain daily written records and undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope and responsibility of the job. Needs may vary on a daily basis, therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter from the care plan.
  • To undertake any training as appropriate for the role.
  • All training and DBS checks will be paid for and arranged by PeoplePlus.

The person I would like:


  • Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with building my confidence & self esteem & promoting my independence.
  • Some knowledge and experience with working with people with spinal injuries and disabilities.
  • You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
  • In return you will have the opportunity to practice your skills, keep up to date with professional development as training will be provided.
  • Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with cheerful a sense of humour.
