Team Leader


Job summary:
what will you do as Turner Home's team leader?


As our team leader, you will work alongside our nurses to support the people who live at The Turner Home to feel safe, content and well.

You will lead a team of care assistants, supporting them to ensure exceptional care is provided to our care home residents.

You will carry out care and support plan reviews to ensure that the care provided is person-centred and meets the requirement of the needs of your residents.

You will be responsible for the administration of residents' medication in line with company policies and procedures. Yours working patter will be accorss day and nights on monthly baisis.

The Turner Home is a 59-bed care home that supports men living with mental and physical health conditions, including dementia.


For over a century, our unique and beautiful 1800s building in Dingle, Liverpool, has been home to lots of men of all ages living with varying complex health needs.

Our team of amazing care staff, clinical staff and managers work alongside our residents and their families to plan personalised care that gives each and every person who lives at Turner Home as much independence and choice as possible.

Set up by philanthropist Charles Turner back in 1875, Turner Home is a registered charity. We pride ourselves on helping to make each person's day that little bit better than yesterday.

Hours:33.75 hours per week (days and nights)


Salary:
£11.50 per hour days and £13 nights + overtime bonus

Your main duties

As our healthcare assistant, you will:

Key responsibilities

Residents wellbeing:


  • Actively encourage the social welfare and wellbeing of residents, contribute to the development of new ideas in nursing care and in stimulation for residents to improve the quality of life.
  • Facilitate a structured, safe, harmonious and caring environment in the home that fosters the physical and emotional wellbeing of the residents and staff; emphasis should be placed on teambuilding and individual growth and respect for all.
  • Make a difference to the lives of older people ensuring that residents are encourage and supported to maintain independence and choice in a homely way.
  • Be courteous and respectful and all time to residents and relatives and retain confidentiality of residents and their families
  • Ensure that the needs of service users and their carers are at the core of the way Turner Home delivers services.

Ensure that service delivery is person centred, outcomes focussed and protective of individual service users' dignity.

Leadership

  • Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model at all times.
  • Manage rotas on a daily basis. Lead the shift, ensuring staff give support that follows individual's care plans and daily support plans.
  • Provide effective supervision to your team. Motivate, support and mentor the staff when needed.

Build strong relationships

  • Use your excellent people skills to build strong relationships with your team, our nurse, the people who live at The Turner Home and their families, and other Turner Home colleagues.

Health and safety

  • Wear the right personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform for the job you are doing.
  • Report all accidents quickly and accurately, following all of The Turner Home's policies and procedures.

Quality and compliance

  • Work to Turner Home policies, procedures, legislative requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep accurate and upt
