Description

One key function is to manage the complex product data that feeds the customer facing website and manage the safe migration of this data to a new database.


The role includes managing qualification plans and reports, project planning and scheduling with the engineering teams and managing project closure to make sure all engineering and manufacturing documentation is correct.

You will work within the Engineering Department based in my client's R&D centre in Norwich.

The Norwich site provides R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) support for multilayer ceramic capacitors and other capacitor types in conjunction with associatedglobal manufacturing sites.


This role supports the Engineering team providing technical support to the R&D projects and meeting the required industry standards, with special emphasis on IATF 16949 Automotive.


Reporting Structure
This position reports to the R&D Project Manager


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with R&D Project Manager, R&D Director, Equipment Engineering Manager and NPI Manager
  • Manage the product range data to make sure new releases are captured accurately on the website, marketing and sales are informed,
  • Longer term, manage the migration of this data to a new database with IT team in USA
  • Technical contribution to R&D and NPI projects
  • Manage qualification planning and reporting
  • Administrate and manage stage and gate processes, documentation and milestone adherence with the emphasis on engineering processes (design rules, work instructions and product control documents)
  • Work with key stakeholders globally
  • China and USA mainly
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Escalating and resolution of risks and issues
  • Manage some projects within the portfolio
  • Development and improvement of processes
  • Provide material and updates for senior management reviews
  • Provide training where needed
  • Other duties as may reasonably be required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ideally be qualified to A level or degree standard
  • Science or engineering background essential
  • Experience of projects in an engineering environment would be an advantage
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Selfdirected, highly professional and collaborative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Project management tools such as MS Project, Workfront, SharePoint etc.
  • MS office tools such Word, Excel (extensive usage), Outlook, OneNote, Visio etc.
