Role:

Responsible for advising and implementation, compliance, and control of Group safety, health and environmental matters.


Responsibility:


  • Set, control and record Group wide site standards
  • Locate new and monitor existing use of subcontractors
  • Ensure absolute and continuing compliance and understanding of CDM legislation and ensure that the regulations are being implemented to a high standard
  • Provide Health & Safety inductions for all new starters and ensure existing staff are made aware of legislative changes and their impact
  • Instruct Construction Managers on Health & Safety issues and site standards
  • Monitor sites, issuing notices as appropriate in accordance with Group policy and closing sites when required.
  • Ensure that CDM documents are correct and complete
  • Accident / incident investigation
  • Advise and comment upon the suitability and adequacy of project related documentation for inclusion in the yellow safety file i.e. the construction phase plan, asbestos reports, building manuals or fit out guides etc
  • Review all asbestos information for each project and advise should we require further surveys to be undertaken
  • Undertake site inspections
  • Review contractors RAMS should it be required prior to works starting on site (overview undertaken on site with Construction Manager)
  • Provide initial training of our H&S procedures (including construction plan information) and site set up to all Construction Managers and Site Managers
  • Provide H&S advice all persons in Maris and Workplace Build

CDM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise and assist the Client with his / her duties by attending meetings where necessary
  • Facilitate good communication between Client, Design Directors and Contractors
  • Liaise, when necessary, with the Construction teams regarding ongoing H&S information
  • Check the construction plan (completed by the Construction Managers) and ensure all relevant information is included
  • Advise compliance and understanding of CDM legislation and that the regulations are being implemented to a satisfactory standard
  • Advise Construction teams on Health & Safety issues and site standards
  • Advise that CDM documents are correct and complete as required
  • Liaise and communicate with the principal contractor where required.
