This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, hard working and experienced Houseman to undertake a live-in position for a HNW client in Central London.
Joining a small team of staff, you will be an excellent all-rounder with a can-do attitude and a willingness to assist with different tasks in and around this 4-bedroom property, including caring for three energetic medium to large dogs.
Providing assistance throughout the property and grounds with general maintenance and assisting the other household staff, you will be an integral part of the team and will work alongside another houseman and a full-time dog nanny to ensure that all exterior cleaning, gardening, and dog care tasks are completed to the highest standard.
Duties will include general DIY and handyman tasks, coordinating maintenance visits and deliveries, as well as dog feeding and walking.
You will also assist with the cleaning of the dog area and provide support to the housekeepers as and when needed, as well as ensuring that the exterior areas are impeccably maintained throughout the day.
A confident driver is required for this role, as you will be required to take the dogs to the vets and run ad-hoc errands.
A live-in position, you will have your own en-suite bedroom in a separate bright and spacious apartment shared with one other staff member.
The role is to work 5 days per week with two consecutive days off, but flexibility will be required to work different shifts and will require weekend work as well.
From time to time, you might be required to travel with the principals, so being travel-ready is an essential requirement for this role.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Identifying and reporting on works and repairs needed within the residence and reporting maintenance, faulty equipment etc.
- Coordinating deliveries and maintenance visits
- Working alongside others to keep the house and garden areas clean and tidy throughout the day
- Sweeping and cleaning down all outside spaces and furnishings
- Keeping windows and glass doors cleaned and liaising with window cleaners
- Replacing all bulbs in garden and house as needed
- Walking the dogs
- Cleaning and grooming the dogs; cleaning the dog areas
- Preparation and serving of dog meals according to schedule
- Assistance with luggage, packing and unpacking for travel
- Shopping and ad hoc errands as required
- Organising rubbish and recycling
- Travelling with principals when required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Prior experience working in a private household
- Loyalty and trustworthiness; proven longevity in prior roles
- Valid UK driving licence
- General maintenance and handyman skills
- Dog lover with a flexible approach and 'cando' attitude
- Professional and boundaried
- Discreet and loyal
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Excellent English and communication skills
- Brilliant checkable references (written and verbal)
