The Nursing Associate (NA) will assist the Nursing team in providing high quality, safe and effective, person centred patient care.

They will work under direct or indirect supervision of a charge nurse to deliver physical and psychosocial care to patients attending for acute and emergency care needs.


The NA will be competent in carrying out a range of clinical procedures and will recognise and work within the limits of their competency.

They will work effectively within a team, collaborating and communicating efficiently with colleagues, patients and those close to them.


The NA will be an accountable professional, acting at all times in accordance with the NMC Code and Trust policies and guidelines.

All NAs will complete the RCN Level one competencies which will form a central component of their developing professional portfolio.
