GBR Recruitment Ltd are working exclusively with a specialist vehicle manufacturer, recruiting for an experienced time served Quality Manager from the specialist vehicle, automotive, F1, plant machinery, aerospace, rail or similar high capitalvehicles / machinery, worth in excess of half a million pound plus.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional Quality Manager with manufacturing experienceT to join a leading company producing world class top end products.


This well reputed manufacturer is looking for a strong QM to implement new right-first-time protocols and real CI methodology / protocols. As well as ensuring high end quality of the finished products, you'll work with the supply chain departmentin order to ensure the company are getting in the right quality of raw materials and components / parts into the business for the production team to achieve that finish desired and expected.


As well as ensuring QA / QC across the business operations, you will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with business processes is achieved for all business requirements.

You will ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry Quality compliance and legislation.


A key part of this QM role is working closely with the production staff to establish build procedures, build standards, appropriate fit for purpose systems and quality procedures, along with writing management and technical reports.


You will be a key linchpin in driving the change management strategy and CI methodologies to push the business to work smarter, leaner and more effectively to hit targets / achieve goals, as well as being a statistician.


Quality Management Duties:


  • Quality Control and Product Assurance tasks
  • Managing a team conducting routine QC inspection, including initial inspections and final defects.
  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level.
  • Working with production staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures.
  • Writing management and technical reports, as well as analysing statistics.
  • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.
  • Recording and distributing statistical information.
  • Developing and monitoring CI programs, aiming to reduce the number of defects and improve quality.
  • Reduce manufacturing costs and improve overall finished product quality.
  • Preparing and validating control plans, including updates as required.
  • Collating data from all business areas and reporting to the Board / SMT on the findings.
  • Carrying out nonconformance reviews and confirming adherence to processes / standards.
  • Organising and leading quality meetings.
  • Organising production system checks and the implementation of customer protection activities.
  • Supporting the confirmation of problem existence for the purpose of QI raising.
  • Verifying rework of audit findings and feeding back areas for improvement to production leadership team.

Experience:


  • Supervising and guiding Quality auditors, inspectors, technicians and other key staff.
  • Strong experience of Quality Control/Assurance tools and processes, especially root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Proven SMT work experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
  • Must have experience as a Quality Manager, within a manufacturing, production or assembly process.
  • Working experience of quality methods such as 5S, LEAN, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience of managing a team in Quality / Technical.
  • Ideally from specialist vehicle, automotive, F1, plant machinery, aerospace, rail or similar high capital vehicles / machinery of complex builds compromising of 1,000's of parts / components.
  • Strong IT skills in Excel, QMS etc.
