The main purpose of the role will be an additional focal point within European Operations to assist the Rope Access Technical Authority in ensuring all rope access operations comply with Sparrows safe system of work & to deliver IRATA Rope Access Training to a high standard.
Main responsibilities
Operational Support
- Collation, auditing & review of RA site implementation documentation
- Collation of group IRATA quarterly return hours
- Collation of Rope Access supplement payment information/ backups
- Additional focal point for technical queries/ workscope support
- RAMS/ RA production
- Carry out onsite Rope Access Audits
- HHA/ IMHH Support
- Recruitment Support
Training Support/ Delivery
- Deliver Rope Access Training to IRATA standard
- Deliver 1day refresher training (Clinterty site is not utilised to full capacity depending on Dave Shaw's schedule & is only used on Fridays during IRATA Assessments)
- Deliver Work at Height Training
- To develop Clinterty site to enhance RA Training delivery (forecasting that most of the rigging training will be completed at Tyrebagger following shelter construction)
Competency Support
- Assess employees as per SCS Rope Access Level 3
HSEQ responsibilities
- It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
- The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under countryspecific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications and experience
- IRATA Level
- IRATA Instructor status or working towards
- First Aid Certificate
- L&D19 Competence Assessor (Desirable)
- PPE Inspection Course (Desirable)
- Offshore Medical
- BOSIET
- MIST
- Relevant trade qualifications (Rigging, Mechanical, Electrical, Inspection etc.)
- Good communicator
- Supervisory & planning skills
- Excellent IT skills including use off MS packages
- Full understanding of IRATA TACS syllabus at all levels
- Full understanding of IRATA ICOP
- Full understanding of IRATA Membership Requirements
